The provision of large amount of data from various sources (Internet, Social Media, Application Logs, Data Warehouses, Sensors, Mobiles, Open Data, etc.) is now emerging into the collection and processing of “Big Data”. While Big Data notion is adopted by both academic and enterprise communities, there is currently a wide gap between its potential and its realization. Variety, velocity, scale, complexity, interpretation and security problems with Big Data raise challenges at all phases of the pipeline that can extract information and knowledge from it. Thus, there is a natural interest in using these data assets to improve a variety of applications. It is very interesting to explore how researchers utilize intelligent data-driven strategies and discover what disciplines will change because of the advent of data. With the vast amount of data now available, modern businesses are facing the challenges of storage, management, analysis, privacy, visualization, security and data integration.
The focus of this special season is on current technological advances and challenges about the development of intelligent methods and tools in the areas of Big Data, Software Services and Cloud Computing.
Therefore, the 4th special season on “New Methods and Tools for Big Data, Software Services and Cloud Computing (MT4BD-2018)” will welcome paper submissions introducing and implementing methods and tools to address various algorithms and methods for processing, modeling and mining of big data and applications. This workshop will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas between theoreticians and practitioners. Speech Title: From Smart Data Systems To Smart Industrial-Purpose Applications
Speaker CV: Prof. Michael (Mike) Papazoglou is a highly acclaimed academic with noteworthy experience in areas of education, research and leadership pertaining to computer science, information systems, service-engineering, cloud computing, and digital manufacturing. He holds the Chair of Computer Science and is the executive director of European Research Institute in Service Science (ERISS) at Tilburg University. He is noted as one of the original promulgators of ‘service-oriented computing’ and was the scientific director of the acclaimed EU Network of Excellence in Software Systems and Services (S-CUBE). He is renowned for establishing local ‘pockets of research excellence’ in service science and engineering in several European countries, China, Australia and the Middle East. Papazoglou is an author of the most highly cited papers in the area of service engineering and Web services worldwide with a record of publishing 25 (authored and edited) books, and over 200 prestigious peer-refereed papers along with approx. 17,000 citations (H-index factor 52). He is a distinguished/honorary professor with an exemplary teaching and R&D record at 11 universities around the globe. He is the founder and editor-in-charge of the MIT Press book series on Information Systems as well as the founder and editor-in-charge of the Springer-Verlag book series on Service Science. His expertise is in the areas of Distributed Systems, Service Oriented Computing, Cloud Computing, Data Engineering and Federated Databases, IoT, Software Engineering, Model Driven Architectures, and Smart Applications, such as Smart Cities and Smart Manufacturing.

All contributions should be original and not published elsewhere or intended to be published during the review period. Authors are invited to submit their papers electronically in pdf format, through EasyAcademia. All the special sessions are centralized as tracks in the same conference management system as the regular papers. Therefore, to submit a paper please go through the steps below and select the track: MT4BD 2018: New Methods and Tools for Big Data.
Paper format: Papers must be prepared using IEEE templates for conference proceedings.
Page limit: The maximum page limit is 10 inclusive of figures and tables. INISTA will offer the option to buy limited number of extra pages for submission.
Language: The official language for the conference is English. Less than satisfactory English usage may form the sole basis for rejection of a paper and omission of any such final paper version from the conference proceedings. Authors whose native language is not English are encouraged to check their papers for proper English spelling and grammar using tools such as English grammar checkers available with most word processing application software. Alternatively, proofreading support from a native English-speaking colleague or technical editor may suffice.
